공간사회연구실
SALT : Sociospatial Architecture Labor Task
연구실의 작업은 문자로 표현되는 연구와 도면으로 표현되는 설계로 구분한다.
I. 연구
건물의 공간조직이 사회조직의 반영이라면 우리는 건물의 공간조직을 분석하여 사회의 작동방식을 추론할 수 있다. 그간 한국의 도시에 지어진 구조물들을 분석하여 그 배경에 깔려있는 사회적 현상을 드러내는 것이 연구실 작업의 방향이다.
II. 설계
기술적 변화가 사회적 변화를 이끄는 동력의 하나라면 건축에서 필요하고 작동하는 기술적 변화가 어떤 것이 있는지 찾고자 한다. 그것은 최소한의 자원, 재료를 사용하여 구현가능한 구조체, 혹은 이동이나 전개가 가능한 구조체의 탐구를 의미한다.
The task of the lab is grouped as follows: scholar research in written words or architectural designs in drawings.
I. Scholar
Given that the spatial structure of a built environment reflects the way how society is organized, we can better understand how this society works by analyzing the built structures in our city. By analyzing the building types around us, we try to understand how this society has moved up today or would change from now on.
II. Architect
Assuming that technological evolution is a locomotive to propel social changes, we try to find a possibility of architectural technology or technical alternatives available in our society. The focus of design research lies in the optimum structure utilizing minimum resources or the structure deployable.
