Modern Architecture and Urbanism Lab (MAUL) is a place to explore the publicness and commonness of contemporary cities and architecture, and seeks to find the possibility of expanding urban publicity by respecting the individuality and diversity of citizens, strengthening relationships, and providing places to accept activities. Rather than limiting the scope of design to architecture, we aim to target natural/built environments of all types and sizes, and seek optimal concepts and methods to improve them. Lab members will conduct research and design based on detailed topics such as ‘place-making’, ‘programs and institution’, ‘urban and landscape’, and ‘technology and construction’.
