서울대학교 지리학과와 사회과학 대학원 지리학과, 한국예술종합학교 건축과를 수학했다.
서울의 건축사무소 Hand, 로테르담의 O.M.A, 서울의 협동원에서 실무를 마친 후, 2011년 건축사사무소 에스오에이를 개소하고 여러 프로젝트를 진행했으며, 2019년 서울대학교 건축학과 교수로 재직했다.
주요작품으로는 남가좌동 다세대주택, 지붕감각, 윤슬, 제주 생각이섬, 파주 스튜디오 M, 스페이스 소 등이 있다. 이탈리아 로마국립21세기 미술관(MAXXI), LG 아트센터, 국립현대미술관, 서울시립미술관, 아르코 미술관, 안양공공예술제 등에서 전시회를 가졌으며, 2017년 서울도시건축비엔날레의 생산도시 섹션의 큐레이팅을 수행했다. 문화체육관광부의 젊은 건축가상(2015), MOMA와 국립현대미술관이 공동주관하는 젊은건축프로그램(2015) , 김수근 문화재단의 프리뷰상(2016), Architectural Record가 주관하는 2016년 ‘Emerging Architecture Award'의 파이널 리스트를 수상했다.
공동저서로는 ‘도서관 산책자’, ‘확장도시 인천’, ‘세 도시 이야기’, ‘아파트 글자’가 있다.

Yerin Kang is an architect based in Seoul. Yerin Kang found design firm SoA in 2011, after practicing Hand and Hyubdongwon in Seoul and O.M.A in Rotterdam.
Key projects include the Rabbit, Roof Sentiment, Yoonseul, Jeju Sayou: Living and Thinking in Architecture, Paju Book City Studio M, Space So which have been introduced in various international publications.
She participated in several exhibitions like Gwangju Design Biennale (2011), Italy MAXXI Exhibition (2012), APMAP Jeju Exhibition (2014), Young Architect Award Exhibition (2015) and was in charge of curating Producing City of ‘Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism’.
Yerin Kang awarded in ‘2015 Young Architects Project’ organized by the Ministry of Culture and Korea Architects Institute (2015), YAP organized by MMCA, MOMA and Hyundai Card Co., Ltd. In 2016, she was nominated for the AR Emerging Architecture 2016 Finalists. In the same year, Jeju ‘Sayou: Living And Thinking in Architecture’ was awarded in Kim Swoo Geun Preview Award.
She co-published books, named Flaneure of libraries (2012), A Tale of Three Cities (2014), Expansion City, Incheon (2015) and Apartment Letters (2016).
