Sungbum Hong, a representative architect of pH7 Architect & CUSTHOME, graduated from AA School in the UK, took his first step as an architect in London, and gained practical experience through diverse public & commercial projects at ACME Space and Building Design Partnership (BDP). In 2018, he moved to Mass Studies Architects in Korea, and took charge of designing diverse religious and commercial projects. In 2020, he acquired the license of British architect and became a chartered member of the RIBA and ARB.
His architectural design studio 'pH7' is originated from the idea of working with a diverse design spectrum, while maintaining the purest form of architecture. 'pH7' uses the purest element of architecture, 'pure geometry,' as its basic design material. By extending the most primitive beauty inherent in pure geometry into space, they create classic, bold, and sometimes futuristic spaces.
His representative works include the tiny house called P-HOUSE, as well as various architectural projects such as the “Unjeongru” Community Center in Seoul, Baekyado Pension in Yeosu,and Timber house in Jeju Island, which are now in progress.
