박철수 교수는 1988년 서울대학교 건축학과에 입학하여 학사학위(1994년) 및 석사학위(1996년)를 취득하였고, 1998-2003년 미국 조지아 공대 건축대학에서 박사학위를 취득하였다. 2005년 3월부터 2018년 2월까지 성균관대학교 건축공학과 교수로 재직하였으며, 2018년 서울대학교 건축학과 교수로 임용되어 현재까지 재직하고 있다. 주 연구분야는 빌딩 시뮬레이션 분야이다. 학부과정으로 건물 열에너지 이론, 건축환경시스템, 자연채광과 조명을 강의하며, 대학원과정에서는 건축환경계획방법론, 빌딩 시뮬레이션 분야 강의를 담당하고 있다.
주 전공분야는 빌딩 시뮬레이션 분야이다. 다양한 건물 시스템 (외피, 차양, 냉동기, 환기) 및 whole building을 모델링하고, 이를 최적 제어를 구현하는 알고리즘을 개발한다. 물리적 모델링 및 기계학습 모델링 방법을 사용하여, 시스템 열적 거동을 모사하고 이를 통해 최적 설계 및 제어를 구현한다.

Prof. Cheol Soo Park is a Professor of architectural engineering at Seoul National University (SNU). He received a B.S. degree and a M.S. degree from SNU. He earned a Ph.D. degree from Georgia Tech in 2003. Before joining SNU, he taught at Sungkyunkwan University from 2005 to 2018.
Prof. Cheol Soo Park’s research interests include advanced building simulation (uncertainty analysis, sensitivity analysis, Bayesian calibration), occupant modeling (Markov chain, agent, random walk), building performance assessment, machine learning, Building Information Model (BIM) to Building Energy Model (BEM), optimal design, and optimal operation of building systems.
