따래 : 대학 기반 팬 타운
“그 지역을 좋게 만드는 방법은 그 지역을 좋아하는 사람을 늘리는 것이다”
지방이 활력을 잃어가는 것은 지금 우리가 처한 큰 문제 중 하나다. 급격한 인구 감소 시대에 초중고의 폐교는 결과라면, 지방대의 폐교는 지방 소멸의 가속화 원인이다. 따라서 지방의 생존에 있어서는 지방대가 핵심 열쇠다. 학생은 줄었지만 대학 캠퍼스에는 양질의 인프라와 운영력이 있으므로 기존 시설을 이용한 재생이 가능하다. 만약 지방대에 레지던스를 개발한다면 대학교는 재정을 확충하고, 레지던트는 저렴하게 쾌적한 지방살이를 실현하며, 학생과 지역주민은 개성 넘치게 변한 지역을 누릴 수 있게 된다.
이 프로젝트를 통해 양성하고자 하는 것은 관계인구다. 해당 지역에 완전 이주하지는 않아도 애착심을 갖고 주기적으로 방문하는 중간지대의 인구, fan으로써 작동하는 사람들이다. 원래 대학은 지역의 발전 원동력이라는 힘을 갖고 있다는 점에서 관계인구를 만드는 잠재력이 있으나 기존의 지방대는 이것을 실현하지 못했다. 시내와 떨어진 값싼 임야에 캠퍼스를 개발하면서 지역과 연결시키지 못했기 때문이다. 결국 지방대 재생에 있어서 중요한 과제는 어떻게 지역과 대학을 길을 중심으로 연결시키냐의 문제다. 이제부터 지역과 다시 연결되어 관계가 재정의된 지방대 2.0 ‘대학 기반 팬 타운’을 그려보고자 한다.

The loss of vitality of rural cities is one of the big problems we face now. In the era of rapid population decline, the closure of elementary, middle, and high schools is the result, while the closure of local universities is the cause of the acceleration of local extinction. Therefore, local universities are the key to the survival of the provinces. Although the number of students has decreased, the university campus has high-quality infrastructure and operational power, so it can be regenerated using existing facilities. If a residence is developed at a local university, the university will expand its finances, residents will realize a comfortable local life at a low price, and students and local residents will be able to enjoy a unique area.
Through this project, it is the linkage population that we want to cultivate. They are people who do not completely migrate to the area, but who visit regularly with attachment, and operate as fan. Originally, universities have the potential to create related populations in that they have the power to drive regional development, but existing local universities have not realized this. This is because it was not able to connect with the region while developing campuses in cheap mountains far from the city. After all, an important task in the regeneration of local universities is how to connect regions and universities around the road. From now on, I would like to draw a local university 2.0 ‘University Based Fan Town’, which has been reconnected with the region and the relationship has been redefined.
