한강 나루터
과거의 한강은 수많은 배가 드나드는 나루터가 있는 곳이었다. 전국에서 한강 나루터로 모여든 사람과 물건들에 의해 한강변은 장터가 되기도 했다가 주막이 되기도 했다가 뱃놀이를 즐기는 여가공간이 되기도 하였다. 서울의 이동수단의 거점이 되었던 한강변은 다양한 활동이 일어나는 일상의 공간이었다.
기능을 잃은 한강
현재, 모든 교통수단은 땅으로 들어가게 되었고 강변에서 움직임은 사라졌다. 이동하는 사람들이 모이는 장소가 한강변에서 사라진 것이다. 그렇게 한강변은 텅 빈 공간이 되어 여가로만 사용되는 공간이 되었다.
다시, 한강
그러나 미래에 다시 한강은 새로운 교통수단의 통로가 된다. UAM(urban air mobility, 도심 항공 교통)은 소음과 사고 위험 등의 안전문제 때문에 물길을 따라 이동해야 한다. 도시 중심을 통과하는 큰 강을 가지고 있는 서울은, 한강을 따라 이동하는 UAM과 그것이 이착륙하고 다른 교통수단으로 갈아탈 수 있는 한강변의 플랫폼을 만들기에 유리한 조건을 가지고 있다.
다시 한강은 교통수단의 이동통로가 되고, 한강변은 이동의 거점이 된다. 한강에 새롭게 오게되는 교통의 거점의 모습은 어떨까
The Han River ferry
In the past, the Han River was a place with a lot of ships coming in and out. The riverside of the Han River became a marketplace, a tavern, and a leisure space where people and objects gathered at the Han River ferry from all over the country. The Han River, which was the hub of Seoul's transportation, was a daily space where various activities took place.
The Han River, which has lost its function
Now, all transportation has gone into the ground and movement has disappeared along the river. The place where moving people gather has disappeared along the Han River. Thus, the Han River became an empty space and was used only for leisure.
Again, Han River
In the future, however, the Han River will become a channel for new transportation. Urban air mobility (UAM) must travel along waterways due to safety issues such as noise and accident risk. Seoul, which has a large river that passes through the city center, has favorable conditions for creating a UAM that travels along the Han River and a platform along the Han River where it can take off and land and transfer to other means of transportation.
Again, the Han River becomes a transportation channel for transportation, and the riverside of the Han River becomes a transportation hub. What would it be like to see a new transportation hub in the Han River
