반지하 주거 개선 프로젝트
이 프로젝트는 우리가 많이 볼 수 있는 8/90년대에 건축된 반지하 주거가 밀집된 임의의 주택 지역을 대상지로 선택하였습니다. 좁은 건물 사이로 계단으로 내려가서 출입하고 지면과 가까운 높이의 창문을 갖고 있는 건물들이 많이 있습니다. 저는 이러한 건물들이 있는 여러 필지들을 합하고 담을 허물고 그 사이 공간들을 반지하 높이로 팠습니다. 그리고 기존 반지하 주거 건물의 반층 높이에 상응하는 판들을 건물들 사이에 삽입하였습니다. 이러한 개입이 반지하층 뿐만아니라 기존 건물들의 고정된 층위를 재구성할 것을 기대하였습니다. 기존 건물 구조를 활용하고자 했듯이 용도도 주거를 유지하되 대학교 인근에 위치하여 학생들이 많은 점을 이용하여 쉐어하우스 형태의 주거가 배치될 것을 기대하였습니다.
Vibrating the Half Underground Housings
In this project, I had randomly chosen the housings area where easily seen 8/90’s built half underground houses are densed. Many of these houses are reached by going down the stairs in between the buildings and have windows close to the ground. I merged these severel land parcels where these kind of single buildings are positioned and removed the walls and dug those grounds in between the buildings down to the half underground level revealing them up to a certain plane. And also inserted the planes in between the buildings corresponding to the existing half levels(-0.5, 0.5, 1.5...). I expected these kind of interventions will change the existing fixed layers of the whole building not only the half undergrounds. Also I am trying to maintain the function of the building as a living but reprograming them into the ‘share house’, taking into an advantage that the university students are populated in the area.
