Urban Loneliness. Loneliness is a negative emotion that causes many serious physical problems as well as mental problems. Rather than being alone, loneliness arises from a sense of psychological isolation, and therefore, many people experience relative loneliness in crowded cities. I started this project with interest in the phenomenon of our society becoming more and more personalized, and Lack of real life human-to-human communication mostly replaced by online communication. We are living more and more closely, regularly, apart from each other in small, divided spaces in this city. I thought that in the city of roads, subway stations, and officetel corridors that we pass like a routine without recognizing the surroundings in our daily life, small things that cause sensory changes like waves can be the beginning of communication. I thought that there was an open possibility of communication from such collisions in uncertain and ambiguous 'liminal spaces', which are boundaries, instead of destinations. In Sillim-dong, where there are many single-person households, there is a boundary between three very different towns, the city and Dorimcheon Stream, and below the subway station called Seoul National University Venture Town Station as a boundary between everydaylife and many destinations away from it. It is hoped that the possibilities of communication created from the liminal space can be a small wave that starts a change in a society where actual communication is lacking.
