Voluntary Strangers’ Square
 
A square is a space created on the premise of a meeting. The square culture began in Agora, ancient Greece, the place of the conference. A square that did not exist in Korea was introduced after modern times and Seoul Square was created. Currently, Seoul Square is used as a meeting space where various rallies and events are held. Nevertheless, is the square premised on the meeting valid for modern society? In a modern society where individuals are increasingly valued, A growing number of “voluntary strangers”, who avoid unnecessary relationships and communication and enjoy their time alone, are showing their individuality without looking at others. However, Seoul Square is used for episodic protests and events, and it is difficult to find individuals using the square in their daily lives. If the flesh changes, so does the stone. In response to changing people and society, I imagine a square that presupposes voluntary estrangement of individuals before the meeting.
