낮은 공연(Low Performance)
현재 우리나라의 공연 문화는 양극화되었으며, 코로나로 인해 그 양상이 더욱 드러났다. 여전히 대형 공연장에서는 공연이 일어나지만 소형 공연장, 지하 공연장에선 더 이상 공연이 일어날 수 없고, 길거리의 버스킹도 이젠 일어나지 않는다.
공연은 노래, 춤, 음악 연주 등을 통해 사람들을 즐겁게 하는 것이다. 모든 공연이 완벽하고 대단할 필요는 없다. 낮은 공연자들은 더 나은 공연을 위해 연습하고, 서로를 도우며, 이따금씩 거리로 나가 작은 관객을 만나고 싶어한다. 이렇듯 일상적인 공연이 일어날 수 있는 길목을 토정로 4길에 제안한다.
토정로 4길은 홍대 거리와 한강변 사이에 위치한, 공연의 연장선상에 있는 길목이다. 담벼락으로 둘러 쌓인, 다양한 경사를 지닌 동네로 공연 요소인 무대 배경과 객석차를 이미 지닌 동네이다.
본 프로젝트는 관객과 공연자가 다양하게 머무르며 상호작용할 수 있지만 그 크기가 작으며, 높이차를 통해 자연스럽게 서로를 나누고, 시간, 상황에 따라 공연 장소 또한 변화할 수 있는 형태를 제안한다. 이러한 낮은 공연은 다른 동네로 점차 확산되어 공연이 더 이상 대단하지 않고, 일상적으로 사람들의 동네에 스며들 수 있기를 기대한다.
Currently, Korea's performance culture has become polarized, and the corona has further revealed its aspect. Performances still take place in large concert halls, but performances can no longer take place in small concert halls and underground concert halls and busking on the streets is no longer taking place.
Performance is to entertain people through singing, dancing, and playing music. Not all performances need to be perfect and great. Low performers want to practice, help each other, and occasionally take to the streets to meet small audiences for better performances. As such, we propose a path to Tojeong-ro 4-gil where everyday performances can take place.
Tojeong-ro 4-gil is an extension of the performance, located between Hongdae Street and the Han River. It is a neighborhood with various slopes, surrounded by walls, and it already has a stage background and a seat difference.
The project proposes a form in which audiences and performers can stay and interact in a variety of ways, but the size is small, share each other naturally through height differences, and the venue of the performance can also change depending on time and situation. It is hoped that these low performances will gradually spread to other neighborhoods, so that the performances will no longer be great and will routinely permeate people's neighborhoods.
