Kinetic architecture is an architecture that changes its shape through a mechanically constructed structure. It breaks the perception of the existing architecture as a static structure and shows the various aspects that a building can have through the dynamic movement of the building. I can also be used in a variety of ways according to its purpose, creating environmental benefits such as daylighting. Currently, most of them implement one-dimensional motions such as moving facades or z-axis rotation, so the main idea on the plane does not change, and it is difficult to find dynamic changes in the composition of the movement or the overall shape felt by the user.

In this project, it was determined that this movement would be easier on the water than on the ground because water has less friction, so it would be easier to implement the movement with less energy. Therefore, the following structural and visual dynamism was attempted to be realized on the water.

Floating architecture has an eco-friendly aspect because it can be built to be in harmony with nature while preserving the ecosystem under the water surface. Interest and demand for floating architecture are also increasing due to the sea level increase from global warming and the lack of available land on the ground. Blooming Island, our project, will have a special meaning in harmony with the surrounding environment as well as the dynamic space composition and exterior beauty.

Blooming Island is a Kinetic Floating rental facility and cultural complex that can use space differently depending on needs and purposes. As the building opens and closes along the frame, there is a change in the overall plan, allowing users to feel different spaces and movement as much as possible when experiencing the building from the inside or outside. In addition, depending on the purpose, space can either be used as one large space, or several small spaces.
