이 사람의 선택과 심리, 그리고 상황에 따라 집은 구성된다. 개방적인 구조로 사이트 중앙에 위치한 기존 주택은 비워진 채 생활공간으로 사용되지 않고 의식을 위한 장소로 변모한다. 이 사람은 더이상 중앙으로 들어가지 않는다. 반면 이 사람의 삶은 이 사이트에서 가장 안전하다고 느낄 가장자리의 담장을 따라 이어진다.
옹벽과 기존 주택 사이에 위치하여 어둡지만 단단한 옹벽을 바라볼 수 있는 종합실, 간단한 식물을 키워가는 온실, 더이상 나가지 않게 되며 사용하지 않게 된 물건들을 쌓아둔 저장소, 바로 앞 높은 건물로부터 시야를 막아주는 벽, 담장 밖을 내다볼 수 있는 탑, 버스정류장에서의 소리를 몰래 듣는 엿듣기실, 자신의 기사를 찾아보는 확인실, 좁고 긴 수영장, 가끔 찾아오는 불편한 손님을 상대하는 응접실 등이 만들어진다.
이 집은 다시 나아가기 위한 재기의 공간이 아니라, 스스로 살아있음을 확인하고 그저 하루하루를 버텨내기 위한 장소이다.

Spaces emerge along this boundary: a multipurpose room facing a retaining wall, a small greenhouse, storage for abandoned belongings, a wall that blocks nearby views, a tower looking beyond the fence, a hidden spot to catch sounds from the bus stop, a room for checking news about oneself, a narrow pool, and a reception room for unwanted visitors.
This is not a house of recovery. It is a place to endure, day by day, holding on to the simple fact of being alive.
