Architect Minsuk Cho founded Mass Studies in 2003. Cho's practice thrives on uncovering the potential within the complexities of an ever-changing contemporary society. Cho has been recognized for his built and curatorial work, most notably as the commissioner and co-curator of the 2014 Venice Biennale Korean Pavilion, awarded the Golden Lion for Best National Participation that year.
In the lecture titled “Challenges,” Cho will present several Mass Studies projects, recently completed and currently in progress, and speak about the challenges and ambitions of each work and how they engage with and nourish various natural and cultural ecologies.
건축가 조민석은 2003년에 Mass Studies를 설립하였으며 그의 작업은 끊임없이 변화하는 현대 사회의 복합성에 있는 잠재력을 찾아내는데 있다.
그는 2014 베니스 비엔날레 한국관 커미셔너이자 공동 큐레이터로서 그 해 최고의 국제 참여상인 황금사자상을 수상하는 등 그의 건축과 큐레이터로서 인정을 받았다.
이번 강의인 Challenges에서는 최근에 완공되었거나 현재 작업중에 있는 여러 Mass Studies의 프로젝트들을 보여주고 각 작업의 도전과 야망 그리고 그 작품들이 어떻게 다양한 자연, 문화 생태계와 개입되어있고 그것들을 풍성하게 하는지에 대해 강연할 예정이다.
