Lab. Architectural & Urban Space

Establised in 1999, the Lab. for Architecture and Urban Space (LAUS) has carried out numerous researches regarding the understanding and planning of space. In creating a humane, rational space, understanding of social/cultural background into architecture and urban space is required. The lab studies a logical approach to the planning and design of buildings and urban areas through the development of spatial analysis programs such as ERAM and VAE. Research into Space Syntax allows a logical, quantitative analysis of spatial configuration, and social/cultural interpretations of space. The lab also continues to carry out numerous architecturerelated projects outside the university.
