Professor Du Nam Choi received a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at the University of California at Berkeley in 1977, followed by a Master’s degree in Architecture at Harvard Graduate School of Design in 1983. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and is professionally registered in the state of New York. Currently, he is a professor at the Department of Architecture and Architectural Enigineering at Seoul National University.
Architectural design and planning lab focuses on the exploration of various design possibilities in the field of architecture, urban design and art,through which dynamic yet tempered spatial experiences can take place. The main activity in the lab revolves around in the intense engagement in the practice and research of design, technology,and theory, synthesizing reason and emotion in the process. The lab is also devoted to the involvement of experimental as well as tectonic aspects of architecture, interested in such design elements as geometry, spatial order and building material.
